August 27– University Police received a call regarding a harassment situation between the caller and their ex-boyfriend. The incident is currently under investigation.
October 2– University Police are investigating a post made on the social media platform YikYak that threatened a student organization on campus.
October 2– Borough Police requested assistance from University Police for a welfare check on an individual at Madison Grove. It was later determined to be a misunderstanding.
October 3– An individual came to the University Police station to report that one of their personal items had been stolen from Rhodes Hall.
October 4– University Police received a 911 call requesting a welfare check on an individual in Building E. Once located, the individual refused to speak with crisis services. They were provided with resources to contact if needed.
October 7– An individual called University Police and made threats toward the police. A warrant for their arrest is in progress.
October 8– University Police received a noise complaint from a resident in Building D, who reported excessive noise coming from a specific dorm room. After arriving on scene, knocking several times, and receiving no response, the officer determined the complaint was unfounded and cleared the incident.
October 8– University Police received a call from a resident in Watson Hall who was concerned that their friend might harm themselves. Officers responded and spoke with the individual in question, then contacted Butler County Crisis. Crisis staff assessed the situation and determined that the individual was safe. They followed up with the individual the next morning.
October 8– University Police received a call about an individual lying in the hallway of the Spotts World Culture Building who appeared to need medical attention. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the individual, who reported experiencing severe cramps, lightheadedness, and dizziness. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were dispatched and treated the individual, who later declined further medical care.
October 9– University Police were requested to conduct a welfare check on an individual who might be in need of medical treatment. Upon contact, the individual stated they were considering withdrawing from college but assured officers they were okay and had spoken with their guardian earlier that day.
October 9– Slippery Rock Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) requested assistance from University Police for traffic control at the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Branchton Road. Upon arrival, officers closed the roadway until the accident scene was cleared by the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), who were the primary investigators of the incident.
