Joshua Cendrowski, a junior psychology major and president of the SRU Chapter of Active Minds, places one of the green and white flags in the ground. The signs in the quad displayed the contact information for the SRU Student Counseling Center. 1,100 flags were placed throughout the entire quad to represent the college students who lose their life to suicide every year. Student volunteers look over the flags after all of them have been placed. A vigil was held in the gazebo Thursday evening to honor the three SRU students, as well as all others who have lost their lives to suicide. Information on the Counseling Center and the National Suicide Prevention Hotline was passed out at the conclusion of the vigil. A student holds a memorial candle during the vigil Thursday evening.
