Corseted silhouettes, low rise capris and feathered accessories filled the runway as Ella Mae Jepson debuted her latest collection at New York Fashion Week.
Inspired by what she described as “trashy Jersey Shore meets Marie Antionette,” the collection created a bold and unexpected take on modern fashion.
Founded in 2021, Ella Mae’s Los Angeles-based fashion label became known for blending whimsical designs with sustainable practices.
Jepson learned how to sew at just six years old and studied fashion at Rhode Island School of Design.
Following her education in the fashion industry, she launched her own label, building a brand around an “Earth-first” policy that emphasizes environmentally-conscious design and production.
“I really like to think, when designing, not about other clothes or other silhouettes I may have seen, but about something more abstract, like nature,” Mae said in describing her 2027 collection.
This was evident in the 2027 collection, A Peaceful Way, which featured an array of bright colors with decadent undertones, creating a bold yet luxurious aesthetic.
A Peaceful Way featured a collection of 31 looks, each pushing the boundaries of traditional fashion.
Jepson transformed unexpected inspiration into a collection that feels anything but ordinary.
With Jepson’s unique approach to design and commitment to sustainability, she leaves the runway making a statement that is nothing short of memorable.
As A Peaceful Way makes a mark, we can only hope to see more of Jepson’s electric designs on the runway soon.
