Every semester, many students look forward to Epic Bingo hosted by Greek life. Students gather to spend time with friends and have the chance to win various prizes.

This semester, Greek life partnered with the University Program Board (UPB) to host Epic(er) Bingo, which added more activities for students to participate in.

There were $3,000 in prizes for students to win, including gift cards, an ice maker, Lego sets, AirPods, an iPad, a Ninja CREAMi and others.

The event was hosted in the Aebersold Student Recreation Center (ARC) on Friday, January 23. Doors opened at 6 p.m. and the Bingo game started at 7 p.m.

During the event, there was a DJ playing music and glow sticks were handed out.

The event is well known on campus and many students expressed their excitement for the game.

“It is an event that I have come to in the past with my friends and it’s always so fun,” Emily Tessean, a sophomore music therapy major said.

When students arrived, they were given Bingo cards and a colored wristband. The wristband was part of a new game that occurred between some rounds of Bingo.

The colored wristband that students received determined their team. A member of the team would do a challenge, competing against other teams in activities such as the dance-off.

Throughout the event, students could also participate in other activities that were offered, including street sign making, airbrush tattoos, balloon animals and caricatures.

“I love getting to spend time with friends, and the suspense of playing Bingo is always so fun,” Tessean said.

Leading up to the event, it was known there was going to be a surprise guest. The guest was actor Kevin Chamberlin, who is well-known for his role as Bertram in the Disney show Jessie along with many other films.

Students expressed excitement when Chamberlin arrived. The actor hosted about two rounds of the Bingo Games.

“I think that the surprise guest was really cool. I grew up watching Jessie so it was really a surprise to see him around this area,” Tessean said.

UPB and Greek Life host various other events throughout the semester.

“I feel that these events are such a fun way to get connected on campus and meet new people. They are always planned quite well and are always a great time,” Tessean said.
