I’m always curious. I always want to know what’s going on. I’m not afraid to admit that I’m a little nosey. I remember in 4th grade I would always sit next to the girls who gossiped a lot and I would write about it in my journal for the writing portion of class. Fast forward 11 years and who would of thought that I would want journalism to be my career. When I was hired at The Rocket a year ago, I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. I just knew I was doing what I love. I was shy, awkward and slightly embarrassed of my writing. Now, I would definitely say that I’ve matured as a journalist, I’m not as shy as I used to be and I’m more confident in sharing my writing with some of the most creative and talented people that I’ve ever met in my life. Going into my second year as a member of The Rocket and as the new Campus Life Editor, I’m more excited than I’ve ever been. Two of my main goals as the Campus Life Editor is to bring more diversity to the newspaper and just make this section the best it can possibly be. This job has already opened up so many different opportunities for me and I’m lucky to be a part of a team that’s so passionate about what they do. Besides being a journalist, you can find me watching Grey’s Anatomy and Empire, being overly obsessed with Pentatonix, Tori Kelly and J. Cole or playing board games. Other than that, you’ll find me running around with my notebook and pencil finding something to be nosey about.
