Slippery Rock University men’s cross country placed seventh at the RMU Colonial Invitational on Friday morning.
Carnegie Mellon University won the team race with 38 points, while Youngstown State and Robert Morris rounded out the top three with 64 and 72 points, respectively. Davis & Elkins finished fourth with 120 points, followed by St. Bonaventure in fifth with 123 points and Wright State in sixth with 135 points.
Slippery Rock finished seventh with 160 points, placing second among the Division II teams behind Davis & Elkins.
Easton Adamczyk once again led The Rock, earning his second consecutive top finish for SRU with a 10th-place showing. Adamczyk covered the 8,000-meter course in 27:09.81, finishing as the second Division II runner in the race behind Davis & Elkins’ Riccardo Andreatta, who placed eighth overall.
Eli Schreiber was the next Slippery Rock runner to cross the finish line, placing 23rd overall with a time of 27:36.54. Michael Gauntner followed in 35th at 28:02.94, while Ty Fiscus finished in 46th at 28:15.99.
Ryan Czechowski placed 75th overall with a time of 29:09.02, followed closely by Brady Hoffman in 77th place with a time of 29:14.46. Dylan Ribelin crossed the line at 29:19.56, placing 81st.
Slippery Rock had several additional runners compete in the invitational. Brandon Henry placed 94th in 29:39.10, followed by Colton Adolph in 97th at 29:42.73 and Dylan Barca in 100th at 29:48.52.
Gavin Boer finished 108th in 30:08.46, while Lincoln Bouman and Brennan Patterson placed 115th and 116th with times of 30:35.18 and 30:37.71. Dom Bumblis finished 118th in 30:39.36, followed by Logan McEvoy in 123rd at 31:08.58.
Andreas Dunkel, Sergio Abdalah and the remainder of The Rock’s field finished in 126th, 127th and beyond, respectively, as SRU placed seventh overall.
West Virginia Wesleyan, Frostburg State and Wheeling rounded out the team standings behind The Rock.
Following the RMU Colonial Invitational, Slippery Rock will return to action Sept. 26 at the Lock Haven Invite.
