Slippery Rock women’s soccer held off Pitt‑Johnstown on Saturday afternoon at James Egli Field, earning a 2-1 Senior Day win to remain unbeaten in conference play.
Before kickoff, SRU honored its 2026 senior class of Leah Allman, Allie Burkholder, Jordyn Constable, Bailey McGee, Sophia Palermo, Lindsey Price, Irene Doleno and Allie Burns.
SRU was assessed an early foul on Palermo just 32 seconds into the match but quickly settled into an attacking rhythm. Price and Peyton Los each registered shots within the opening four minutes, setting the tone for a dominant first half.
Palermo produced the game’s first shot on goal in the 18th minute, but UPJ goalkeeper Gianna Cardillo pushed the attempt away with a top‑left save. Cardillo denied McGee moments later, but The Rock finally broke through in the 22nd minute when McGee connected with Constable, who finished past Cardillo for a 1-0 lead.
SRU continued to generate chances. Jilly Deivert fired a pair of attempts that Cardillo kept out, while Eden Williams, Abby Paterline, Chloe Flynn and Constable all forced saves. UPJ entered halftime without a single shot on goal.
The Rock wasted no time after the break. In the 46th minute, Paterline doubled the lead, beating Cardillo to make it 2-0.
UPJ finally found life in the 59th minute. After recording their first shot on goal of the match, the Mountain Cats equalized just seven seconds later when Sarah Henry slipped a shot past SRU’s Allman, cutting the deficit to 2-1.
That would be UPJ’s final threat. Slippery Rock controlled the remainder of the match, holding the Mountain Cats without another shot on goal and closing out the 2-1 victory.
SRU outshot Pitt‑Johnstown 19-5 overall and 11-2 on shots on goal.
Allman made one save across 87 minutes before Burkholder closed out the final three minutes.
With the win, The Rock improves to 4-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 in PSAC play. The win also pushed The Rock’s remarkable home form to 11-0-2 over its last 13 matches at Egli Field, a run in which SRU has outscored opponents 34-7 for a +27 goal differential.
Slippery Rock returns to action Sept. 16, hosting Clarion University at James Egli Field.
