Slippery Rock women’s indoor track and field competed at the Ashland Last Chance Meet last Saturday and walked away with 13 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying marks. Along with that, the team had two event wins and 14 finished in the top five.

The top event of the day was the 4×400-meter relay. Jianna Long, Shannon McCullough, Lydia Reed and Ava Reagle broke SRU’s season best with a time of 3:54.32. The record-breaking time moved the squad up to No. 2 in the PSAC.

Long, Reed and Reagle also claimed qualifying marks in their respective events. Long finished second and Reed in third in the 200-meter dash, and Reagle took sixth in the 60-meter dash.

Alice Bogia brought home the other first-place win for The Rock in the triple jump, reaching a distance of 11.36 meters to earn herself a qualifying mark.

The senior is a seven-time PSAC Championship qualifier and has a season best of 11.50 meters.

Rock athletes also claimed second and third place in the same event, with Katie Book at 10.94 meters and Julia Bold at 10.47 meters.

The White and Green dominated a majority of the top five in the long jump as well. Baylee Blauser took second place along with a PSAC standard. Third place belongs to Bogia, and Kate Walasavage took fourth.

10 others placed in the top five for Slippery Rock.

Along with Long and Reed in the 200-meter dash, Kamryn Ross took fifth with a time of 26 seconds flat.

Annasophia Stauffer, Evabella Cox and Avah Hassler placed in the top ten for the 400-meter dash, all finishing within the same second.

Carissa Flynn and Gwen Lloyd claimed fourth and fifth in the mile run, finishing just a second apart. Flynn, with a time of 5:15.51, earned herself a PSAC qualifying mark.

Another Rock runner crossed the finish line two places behind Lloyd, finishing just about 14 seconds apart.

A group of three SRU sprinters completed in the 60-meter hurdles, all in the top 10.  Ondrea Young and Kathryn Morrison took third and fourth place, while Cox claimed eighth, all nearing the same time.

Another set of three jumpers finished in the top 5 for the high jump. Delaney Sturgeon held second place, earning a qualifying mark with 1.64 meters. Tayla Kurzawa and Sophia Yard tied for fifth place.

Allie Taylor reached a third-place height of 3.45 meters in the pole vault. Two other Rock athletes rounded out the top 10.

Olivia Heckman and Haley Domagala earned standard marks in shot put. Heckman threw for 13.33 meters to take fourth place while Domagala placed ninth with 12.49 meters.

Domagala also placed in the weight throw along with Sydney Hale and Autumn Stewart.

After rounding out their regular season on a high note, Slippery Rock now turn their sights to the PSAC Championship weekend hosted at Lehigh University, starting Saturday and Sunday.
