The Rock women’s tennis team is sitting at a 10-6 record this season. The team has been on a four-game winning streak.

Last season, the White and Green achieved a 16-9 record and made it to the finals of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) tournament, losing 4-1 to Indiana University (Pa.) (IUP) 4-1 in the second round.

SRU is currently sitting at a 3-1 record in the conference standings.

The team looks to add two more wins before the end of the regular season. This would put their record at 12-6.

The team is sitting right behind IUP for the fourth straight year in the conference. The Crimson Hawks are sitting at a 5-0 conference record while being at 9-8 overall.

SRU has two more games for the remainder of the season.

On Monday, Edinboro University travels to the SRU tennis courts to take on The Rock. This is the first time these two universities will clash since they played each other last season.

The last time these two teams met was April 5, 2023, when Slippery Rock came out on top. SRU won that matchup 7-0 at Edinboro.

These two teams were originally supposed to match up on April 11, but it got postponed to April 22 at 4 p.m.

Two days following SRU’s game against the Fighting Scots, the team has their last game of the year at home against California (Pa.), also at 4 p.m.

This is the first time these two schools go at it this season. If SRU wins one of the last games, they should be in the playoff race.

In the PSAC Tournament, the top three teams from every conference make the playoffs. SRU is right behind IUP in the West. Millersville University leads the East.

The PSAC Championships begin with the PSAC Tournament Quarterfinals on April 30.
