What costume are you wearing for Halloween, and why?
Editor-in-Chief: Myles Greene – My girlfriend and I are going as Lord Farquaad and Thelonious (the applause guy) from Shrek. She will be Farquaad and I will be the applause guy. I am looking forward to walking around behind her with the applause sign all evening because she’s a goddess, even dressed as Farquaad.
Advertising Manager: Jacob Bennefield (Cheese) – I am a shark because I really needed a costume and Walmart had a shark costume, so I bought it.
News Editor: Will Trubic – I am Raoul Duke from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Honestly, it was the easiest thing I could do. I own all the supplies.
Assistant News Editor: Owen Masucci – I’m Ryland Grace from Project Hail Mary. I crocheted a Rocky that has two limbs, definitely so he can hang on my clothes, and not because I didn’t have time to make him more. I wasn’t going to do Halloween but then The Rocket was, so I panicked and settled with this.
Sports Editor: Garrett Dollin – I am Joe Cool as portrayed by Snoopy in the Peanuts series. I decided on that because it was easy (just a shirt and sunglasses) and because I LOVE SNOOPY.
Assistant Sports Editor: Landon Pagely – I’m going as a wizard this year because I have been told that being mystical and wise is back in style this year. I will NOT throw fireballs at people.
Student-Life Editor: Kayla Raynak – I am dressing up as Carmy Berzatto from the TV show The Bear! I chose this costume because The Bear is my favorite show and the final season came out this summer. I am also dressing up with my roommate as Cole and Dylan Sprouse when they did the Danimals commercial.
Assistant Student-Life Editor: Audrey Bullock – My friend Eirene and I are being “bedbugs.” We will be wearing an antenna, wings and pajamas. I am also being a cat; I was given ears at the DJ event and deemed them a free costume.
Multimedia Editor: August Jones – I am being Plex from Yo Gabba Gabba as a group costume with my partner and their friends.
Assistant Multimedia Editor: Evan Luffey – I’m Chris Hansen, with Dateline NBC. You see how this looks, right? I loved the A24 film Primetime, directed by Lance Armstrong, and NBC’s To Catch A Predator is my favorite sensationalized reality show.
Copy Web Editor: Paige Miller – I’m being Blair from Gossip Girl with one of my friends (going as Serena) one night, and then I’ll be Christine from The Phantom of the Opera the second. I chose these because I like the show and movie, and I don’t have a better reason, so that’s all!
Assistant Copy Web Editor: Mae Alley – I am dressing as Audrey from Little Shop of Horrors! I got a blonde wig and have been loving leopard print recently, so this was an opportunity to show off some new accessories. I am also being Maddie from Euphoria because she is my favorite character.
Photo Editor: Daniel Earley – I’m doing a New York-themed Spiderman with jeans, boots and a fitted hat!
Assistant Photo Editor: Emma Maun – I am doing Morticia Addams! I love the Addams Family and especially Morticia!
