April 3 – Slippery Rock Borough Police requested assistance for a welfare check on an individual at Sheetz. University Police arrived and stood by, finding that the person showed no signs of self-harm. No action was taken by University Police
April 3 – University Police responded to a fire alarm activation at Suite D and were informed that the building had been evacuated. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers determined that a main water pipe had burst inside the building. Maintenance was notified and responded promptly. The water supply was shut off and the residents were allowed to re-enter the building.
April 3 – University Police received a complaint from an individual at Suite E who reported receiving phone calls, one claiming to be from an ICE agent and the other from the City of Butler Police Department. Both calls requested the complaint send $250 in gift cards. The complaint did not purchase any gift cards, and the officer advised them to block the phone numbers. The incident is currently under investigation.
April 3 – University Police received a report from an individual stating that their vehicle was damaged while parked in the PT Parking Lot.
April 3 – Slippery Rock Borough Police arrived at the station to use the Datamaster with a suspected DUI driver.
April 5 – Pennsylvania State Police visited the station to gather information regarding a motor vehicle theft that took place within the limits of Slippery Rock Borough. The details were provided to the Trooper for further investigation.
April 6 – University Police received a call for a medical issue at North Hall. Police responded and requested EMS for transport, and the individual was taken to the hospital.
April 6 – Individual called police and stated they accidentally backed into a sign at Walley Rose Resident Park. Police took a report and left a message to facilities to replace.
April 6 – University Police received a call about an assault which occurred in March at The Grove. The individual was referred to PSP since the incident took place off campus.
April 6 – University Police received a call for an individual who dislocated their hip at Swope Music Building. EMS responded and transported the individual to the hospital.
April 7 – University Police received a call to request an ambulance for an individual needing medical attention at the Campus Success Center. EMS arrived and transported the individual to Butler Memorial Hospital.
April 7 – University Police received a call from an individual reporting potential damage to their vehicle while it was parked in the East Lake Parking Lot. The incident is currently under investigation.
April 7 – University Police received a call stating that several individuals at the Aebersold Recreation Center were arguing. The police arrived and spoke to all parties and everything was okay.
April 7 – University Police received a call from an individual who reported that while they were pulling into a parking space at the Lower Stadium A lot, they accidentally struck a parked vehicle. When the police arrived, they spoke to the driver. The officer then contacted the owner of the parked car, and both individuals exchanged the required information.
April 8 – University Police responded to a report of a disabled vehicle in the Central Loop after receiving information that the right front passenger wheel had come off. Upon arrival, the officer confirmed that the tire was indeed detached from the vehicle. The driver informed the officer that they had already contacted Pry’s Towing for assistance. The officer then managed traffic flow until the vehicle was successfully towed.
April 8 – University Police received a call from an individual stating that while they were eating in the Smith Student Center, they noticed a person staring at them. When they left, it appeared that the unknown person was following them. The incident is currently under investigation.
April 8 – University Police received a report of a parked car with its door open in the Founders Middle Resident lot. Contact was made with the owner, who stated that they might have left the door open when they parked it.
April 9 – University Police received a complaint from an individual stating that while their vehicle was parked in the parking lot, an unknown person(s) removed part of a marker on the car that read “Women’s Rights.” Specifically, the “WO” was taken off the phrase. The incident is currently under investigation.
April 9 – University Police received a call from the Community Advisors regarding a Health and Safety check in Suite F. Upon entering the room, three cases of alcohol were observed. An officer arrived to examine the cases, but no alcohol was found. The incident was referred to Student Standards.
April 9 – University Police received a call from a person who reported that while backing out of a parking space, they accidentally struck a car parked next to them. An officer arrived at the scene, and both drivers exchanged the necessary information.
April 11 – University Police were called along with EMS for assistance for an individual who fell at Building D. The individual refused medical transport.
April 11 – University Police were called to Building E to meet with an individual about being harassed. Police took the information and the case is under investigation.
April 12 – Slippery Rock Borough Police called University Police to assist for individual(s) trespassing in a house on Normal Avenue who refused to leave.
April 12 – University Police were called for a traffic accident at the Lower Stadium C Lot. No injuries were reported and both cars were able to be driven. Both parties exchanged information.
April 12 – University Police responded along with EMS for a person who fell at Building D. A person was assisted by police and EMS back into their bed.
April 12 – Individual came to the station and wanted to speak with an officer about harassment. The responding officer took a report and provided them with resources.
April 13 – University Police responded to an individual having a medical emergency at Swope Commuter Lot. EMS was dispatched and transported the individual to the hospital.
April 14 – University Police received a call from a concerned parent who had not heard from their son and was requesting that police conduct a welfare check at Rock Apartment #2. Dispatch advised the officers that the parent called back and stated that they had made contact with him and that everything was okay.
April 14 – University Police received a call from facilities stating that the laundry room on the third floor of Watson Hall was full of smoke. However, the police did not receive an alarm through the alarm panel. The officer arrived and determined that a custodian had already turned off the washing machine, and the motor belt had burned.
April 15 – University Police received a call from the Health Center requesting an ambulance be dispatched for an individual in need of medical treatment. EMS arrived, and the person was transported to Grove City Hospital.
April 15 – University Police were dispatched to a non-reportable vehicle accident on Maltby Avenue. Upon the officer’s arrival, they spoke to the driver, who stated that while they were backing up, they struck another parked vehicle.
April 16 – University Police assisted the FBI and the Allegheny County Sheriff Department by serving a search warrant at Rock Apartment #2 and stood by for the officer’s safety.
April 17 – University Police assisted Slippery Rock ambulance and the fire department with traffic control and blocking off the area around Old Thompson Field. Life Flight arrived to transport an individual experiencing breathing problems.
