March 28- University Police conducted a traffic stop on South Main Street that resulted in the discovery of the motor vehicle operator being under the influence of alcohol.
March 29- University Police received a call from PSP requesting a response to a vehicle accident at Dunkin’ Donuts, as all troopers were occupied with an active vehicle pursuit. Police arrived on scene and spoke to both drivers. No injuries were reported, but one vehicle needed to be towed. PSP was dispatched.
March 29- PSP arrived at the police station to request assistance with a stolen vehicle report on Kiester Road. Information was reviewed and passed on to the trooper.
March 29- University Police received a complaint from an individual at Watson Hall claiming they have a Protection from Abuse (PFA) order and the defendant had violated it. University Police, with assistance from PSP, were able to apprehend the offender. Police transported the defendant to Butler County Jail.
March 30- PSP arrived on station to utilize the Datamaster with a possible DUI motor vehicle operator on Kiester Road. The individual refused to take the test.
March 31- University Police received a call from a CA at Rhoads Hall reporting that an individual was removing trash from a dumpster located in the parking lot. The case is currently under investigation.
April 1- University Police received a call from a staff member at Aebersold Recreation Center reporting the theft of an individual’s cell phone. The caller later reported that the phone had been found, and no further action was taken.
April 1- University Police received a call from an individual expressing concern for another individual who was sitting on the rail at Stadium Drive. The caller reported that the individual appeared to be crying and asked if they were okay. The individual replied that they were fine and waiting for their friend to pick them up. When the responding officers arrived and checked the area, the individual was gone.
April 2- University Police received a call about an individual who had passed out at Old Main but was now awake. EMS and Police arrived, and the individual was transported to Grove City Hospital.
April 2- University Police are currently investigating a hit-and-run that took place in the Smith commuter parking lot. The investigating officer has identified the driver involved in the incident, and the case is ongoing.
April 2- University Police were notified by a concerned individual who reported that someone might be considering self-harm at Building E. Upon arriving at the scene, officers engaged with the individual, who stated that they had no intentions of harming themselves. Subsequently, a call was placed to Butler Crisis for additional support, and they spoke to the individual. A follow-up was scheduled to ensure their well-being.
