New student organizations and funding requests were approved at the meeting

SRSGA met formally on Monday, March 19 at 5 p.m. in the Smith Student Center to approve new organizations and funding requests. 

SRSGA Approves New Student Organizations

Several new organizations that highlight collegiate life were approved, with each motion to approve passing unanimously. 

The following groups were approved as recognized student organizations: ASME club, Pep-Band. 

Funding Requests Approved

The SRSGA Senate unanimously approved two motions that granted funding for two student organizations on campus. 

The motions that were approved were the Inline Hockey’s New initiative request of $7,116.64, and the American Marketing Association Conference Grant request of $500. 

Miscellaneous 

As election applications closed on March 14, prospective candidates now have the rest of March to mount a campaign for the April election.

Andrei Pagnotta
Andrei Pagnotta is a junior, majoring in Political Science with a concentration in Law and Politics, as well as an Acting Minor. Andrei joined The Rocket in the fall of 2024 as an Assistant News Editor and is now the News Editor. Andrei specializes in writing about local politics and various happenings around Slippery Rock. Aside from The Rocket, Andrei is the Treasurer and an active member of the Debate Society. After graduating, Andrei plans to attend law school to become an attorney representing labor unions. Andrei is from the Youngstown, Ohio area and is proud of his diverse heritage—especially the food! When he's not writing for The Rocket, Andrei enjoys cooking, going to record shops, and studying Pennsylvania's geography and old election data.
