August 22- University Police are currently investigating the theft of a miniature Final Four Trophy taken from the Women’s Lacrosse Building between August 22nd and August 25th of 2025.
August 27- University Police received a fire alarm activation notification taking place in the Equestrian Center. Safety personnel responded and determined that the air conditioning vent was blowing dirt into the smoke detector. A call was made to the service contractor who reported on Thursday, August 28th to fix the alarm.
August 28- Slippery Rock Borough Police received an emergency phone activation from an individual concerned about their friend who was experiencing low blood pressure while on a trip to Sheetz. Dispatch notified University Police who made contact with the individual. The individual was confirmed to be okay.
August 28- University Police received a call from Butler County Control informing them that an ambulance had been dispatched for an individual in Building D who reported having injured their back three days prior while riding their longboard. The person was experiencing severe back pain. EMS and police arrived on the scene and the individual was transported to Grove City Medical Center for treatment.
August 28- Slippery Rock Borough Police received a report from an individual in Watson Hall regarding fraud. The individual was contacted through TikTok, reportedly scammed out of three-hundred dollars, and was threatened with bodily harm.
August 28- University Police received a call from a Community Assistant (CA) in Building F reporting a TikTok video displaying alcohol in a dormitory refrigerator. The CA requested the officer follow up on the matter. When the officer arrived at the location, no contact was made with anyone.
August 30- University Police responded to an alcohol violation at Watson Hall. Charges were filed.
August 31- University Police received a call from someone at Sheetz who was assaulted and had resulting injuries. Police dispatched an ambulance and the parties involved were turned over to the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) to handle.
September 1- Slippery Rock Borough Police received a call for an individual who was carrying a gun at University Village. The individual was detained and no weapon was found on their person. The case was turned over to the Pennsylvania State Police to handle.
September 1- An individual entered the Slippery Rock University Police Department to report harassment. The Reporting Officer took down all important information and the case is under investigation.
September 2- University Police were requested for a residential burglary alarm that took place on Popular Forest Drive. Upon the arrival of the University Police, it was found that the resident had accidentally activated the alarm.
September 2- University Police were notified by a staff member in North Hall about an email that claimed a bomb was hidden somewhere on campus. A search of all the buildings was conducted and all were deemed clear. The FBI was informed and is assisting University Police with the investigation.
September 6- University Police assisted the Slippery Rock Borough Police in a search on Elm Street for an individual who possessed stolen weapons. The Grove City Police Department was en route with a search warrant.
September 6- Pennsylvania State Police requested assistance from University Police to supervise a car at The Grove until the dispatched PSP officer could arrive. The car was a suspect in a DUI hit and run.
September 6- University Police received a call regarding a bat in an individual’s room in Rhoads Hall. An on-call facility staff was contacted and said that the bat would be removed in the morning. Police later received a call back stating that the bat had left of its own accord.
September 6- While University Police were on a call at Rhoads Hall, a female was interfering with officers and refused to return to her room numerous times. The individual was referred to student conduct.
September 7- Pennsylvania State Police requested assistance from University Police regarding a fight occurring between buildings at The Grove. Upon the arrival of the University Police, they observed that no one was fighting.
September 9- University Police responded to a call from a Community Assistant (CA) regarding an alcohol and drug violation in one of the dorm rooms of Watson Hall. Upon the arrival of the officers, they spoke with the resident, and alcohol and drugs were located. Charges are pending.
September 10- University Police responded to a suspicious individual making disturbing comments at Bailey Library. The responding officer located the individual and identified them. They refused medical treatment and then left the area at the officer’s request.
September 10- University Police responded to a report of an individual who was vomiting at Vincent Science Center. The responding officer arrived and the individual refused to be seen by EMS. The officer escorted the individual to the Student Health Center. No further action was taken.
September 10- The University Police received a call about an individual who was making unstable statements and appearing disheveled at Morrow Field House. Upon the officers’ arrival, they were informed that the individual was located at the Admissions Office. The responding officer identified the person as someone involved in a previous incident. They located the individual and transported them to their residence in the City of Butler. The incident is currently under investigation.
September 11- University Police received a call from the Community Assistant (CA) in Rhoads Hall about an individual who had taken a photo of another person while they were preparing to take a shower. Upon investigation, the officer determined that the person was holding their phone up to take a selfie and was not photographing the other individual.
September 11- University Police received a call about an individual who had ingested a large number of pills at Building F. Police and EMS arrived and the individual was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital.
September 11- University Police received a call from the Counseling Center requesting an ambulance for an individual needing medical attention. They asked that the police not respond. EMS arrived on the scene. The individual’s parents then arrived and decided to transport their child to the hospital.
September 11- University Police responded to an individual who appeared catatonic at Swope Music Building. Police and EMS arrived at the scene. The individual began to talk with EMS and refused further medical treatment.
September 12- University Police were dispatched to Slippery Rock’s Counseling Center in response to an individual who had suffered a seizure and then had fallen and hit their head. Police and EMS arrived on the scene and the individual was transported to Grove City Medical Center.
September 12- University Police received a call from Butler 911 reporting multiple hang-up calls with no response on the caller’s side. Officers located the individual at the Smith Student center and determined that their phone was in their pocket and they were mistakenly butt-dialing emergency services continuously.
September 13- Borough Police and EMS were dispatched for an individual at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium who had fainted and hit their head. The individual was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
September 13- University Police were contacted regarding an individual intoxicated on the steps of Building B. The individual was identified and was cited for Public Drunkenness and Underage Consumption.
September 14- Pennsylvania State Police requested assistance for possible gun shots that had been heard at The Heights. It was determined that no shots were fired. It was discovered the source of the alarming noise was due to a broken window in one of the apartments. Pennsylvania State Police are continuing to handle the investigation.
September 15- University Police responded to a call from the mail room in the Campus Success Center regarding a strong odor of marijuana coming from a delivered package. Upon inspection, it was confirmed the package contained drugs. The case is currently underway and charges are pending.
September 17- Borough Police requested assistance in locating an individual who was involved in a theft at the local Sheetz Gas Station. It was determined that the individual lives off campus.
