The No. 8 Slippery Rock University lacrosse team entered their April 1 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup against No. 22 Seton Hill with an undefeated record, looking to extend their perfect season in front of a home crowd at Mihalik‑Thompson Stadium.

From the opening draw, Slippery Rock intended to set the tone early. The first breakthrough came at 10:53 when Reagan Richeson scored unassisted, giving The Rock a quick 1–0 lead.

Seton Hill answered less than two minutes later with a free‑position goal from Brooklyn Miller, but SRU wasted no time regaining control. Richeson struck again nine minutes into the first quarter, this time assisted by Grace Rotter, and Rotter followed with her own goal at 7:50. Abby Fink added another to close the first quarter with Slippery Rock ahead 4–1. The opening frame also saw a yellow card issued to Seton Hill’s Elena Traficante at 6:32.

The White and Green carried that momentum into the second quarter. Dominating offensively, The Rock put up three clear attempts in the first few minutes. At 12:37, Rotter pushed one through with help from Sydney Ulmer. After a brief lightning delay, she added another to her total. Her third goal of the period came at 5:17 off an assist from Maddie Blazey, pushing their lead to 7–1 by halftime.

Seton Hill struggled to maintain possession throughout the period, and Slippery Rock’s pressure on both ends of the field kept the Griffins from generating consistent scoring chances.

The third quarter opened with more of the same. Rotter scored her fifth goal of the night, followed by another from Shannon Von Kaenel just seconds later, extending the deficit to 9–1.

Seton Hill finally broke through late in the period when Sydney Marusko scored, and Ruby DePalma added a free‑position goal with twenty‑one seconds remaining. A yellow card on Seton Hill’s Kayla Seiler at 11:23 added to the team’s challenges, but the Griffins showed signs of life as the period closed.

Seton Hill carried that energy into the final quarter, opening with another free‑position goal from Marusko at 13:02 to work on closing the gap.

Slippery Rock responded at quick with another goal from Rotter, a performance that continued to anchor The Rock’s offense.

The senior ranks fifth in SRU history in total shots, recording season highs with 10 shots and six goals, as well as playing for 60 minutes.

Seton Hill kept pushing with another free-position goal under six minutes left, bringing the score to 10-5.

Despite the Griffins’ late efforts, the White and Green maintained control and closed out the game with a strong defensive stand.

Slippery Rock’s offense was led by an outstanding six‑goal performance from Grace Rotter, supported by two goals from Richeson and one each from Von Kaenel and Fink.

With the victory, Slippery Rock improved to 11–0 overall and remained undefeated in PSAC play. The Rock will stay at home for their next matchup, hosting Lock Haven this Saturday.
