The Slippery Rock University women’s outdoor track and field split their squad, sending them to Lynchburg, Virginia for the Jack Toms Invitational, and to Pittsburgh for the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational.

Most of the team’s top sprinters, hurdlers and field events were sent to Lynchburg, while the distance squad and select field and multi-event athletes went to Carnegie Mellon.

On Friday and Saturday, the team racked up 19 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying marks and two National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) provisional marks.

The Rock claimed six event wins and 33 top 10 placements.

Alice Bogia took an event win in the triple jump. Reaching a distance of 12.02 meters, she earned herself an NCAA provisional.

The other provisional mark belongs to Isabella Bartoletti. Throwing for 44.31 meters in the javelin throw, she took a first-place win as well.

The White and Green dominated the top five in the long jump. Baylee Blauser led the way, taking first place and a PSAC mark. Bogia, Tayla Kurzawa and Autumn Wyatt rounded out the remaining top five.

Rock relay teams took charge of the track. The squad of Grace Lennon, Lydia Reed, Kamryn Ross and Ava Reagle claimed first place in the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 48.27. Reed and Reagle led, with Shannon McCullough and Evabella Cox taking second place on the 4×400-meter relay.

Cox led the way in hurdles, taking third place with a time of 1:04.81 to clinch a PSAC mark. Also meeting the PSAC standard is Marissa Smalheer to round out the top five. She was shortly followed by Madison Smalheer, who took seventh.

Reagle took another top-five standing in the 200-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 25.63 to gain another PSAC mark for The Rock’s total.

Three out of the four SRU finishers for shot put came home with markings of their own. Olivia Heckman, Savannah Schneck and Haley Domagala take three of the top five placements.
