
The Slippery Rock University men’s indoor track and field team finished second at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Indoor Championships over the past weekend at Lehigh University.
The Rock trailed only Shippensburg University, who secured their 15th consecutive conference title after finishing with 181.5 points, followed by SRU with 102.5 points. Kutztown rounded out the top three with 78 points, followed by East Stroudsburg in fourth with 75 and Lock Haven with 72.
Logan Anderson was named the Most Outstanding Field Athlete after breaking the SRU and all-time PSAC record in the heptathlon with a score of 5,298 points.
In addition to Anderson, Jacob Stucchio finished a career-best fourth place with 4,771 points. Ethan Folmer placed 11th with a score of 4,226 points, with SRU taking 15 points in the event.
Johnathan Wess was named the PSAC Champion Scholar Award winner alongside Jennifer Cichra of SRU’s women’s indoor track and field team, both of whom own a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Seaton Wozniak continued his dominant season, winning his first PSAC individual title of his career. After falling behind in the finals, Wozniak delivered an SRU record 18.40-meter throw, breaking his previous record of 18.17.
In the shot put, Connor Brown secured a fourth-place finish with a 16.58-meter toss. Zach Gose took sixth at 16.47 meters, followed by Tyler Ondrusek in seventh at 16.14 meters and Logan Parker in eighth at 16.13 meters. Evan Hall and Jacob Gose rounded out the rest of SRU’s participants in 12th and 14th place with scores of 14.70 and 14.61 meters.
Matthew Crow finished second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.13 seconds. Wess and Austin Kurta finished in seventh and eighth place respectively with times of 8.45 and 8.50.
Logan Turton, another All-PSAC honoree, had a career-best 2.02-meter jump, placing second in the event and securing eight points. Grady Cobb finished 14th with a 1.87-meter jump.
In the 800-meter run, Brady Hoffman finished ninth with a time of 1:58.02, followed by Nate Pitzer at 1:59.73.
In the 3,000-meter run, Eli Schreiber placed ninth at 8:40.02 seconds, and John Juszynski in 17th with a time of 9:04.58.
In the mile run, Lincoln Bouman finished 13th at 4:28.15, followed by Anthony Robare in 18th at 4:35.76.
Jason Alderson finished fourth in the triple jump with a career-best 14.44-meter jump.
The White and Green placed fifth in the 4×400-meter relay with a time of 3:23.04 behind the team of Trey Huha, Jacob Thompson, Micah Good and Kyle Rauchut.
Crow, Brown, Gose, Anderson and Wozniak all received NCAA provisional marks, and will wait to see if they have been accepted to compete in the national championships at Virginia Beach in mid-March.
Meanwhile, the rest of the roster will look ahead to the outdoor season, set to begin March 21 at California University (Pa.).
