The men’s cross country season comes to a close with only three races left, and the team is gearing up to compete in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships this Saturday.

The Rock gained their lone season win during the first race of the season at the Doug Watts Open Invitational on Sept. 6. John Juszynski was first to cross the finish line for SRU with a time of 19:36. Eli Schreiber was right behind him, finishing the 6,000-meter course just 11 seconds behind Juszynski.

Juszynski, a senior, is an eight-time PSAC Championship Qualifier and one-time All-PSAC in the 2024 season.

The White and Green had eight other runners cross the finish line in the top 30.

After that, the team went on to compete at the Allegheny Cross Country Classic, where they tied for second place.

Schreiber led the charge, finishing in 27:53 in 13th place. Seconds behind him was Geneva College’s Tommy Corbin.

Next to finish for SRU were Alex Morris and Michael Gauntner in 16th and 17th just a second apart.

Juszynski, Easton Adamczyk, Dylan Ribelin and Jonah Lindstorm rounded out the top seven for Slippery Rock, finishing within the same minute, and all crossing the finish line in under 30 minutes.

The last two meets for The Rock were the Lock Haven Invitational (10th) and the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational (seventh).

Juszynski led the charge in both invitationals, finishing 64th (26:11) at Lock Haven and 14th at CMU (25:24).

In the Crimson Race at Lock Haven, Schreiber and seven other Rock runners ended the race in under 28 minutes. Michael Noval closed out the race, finishing with a time of 27:53.

In the White Race, Ryan Czechowski finished first for the White and Green, crossing the finish line in 28 minutes. Gavin Boer came up seven seconds behind him.

For the CMU invitational, Ribelin was next to finish after Juszynski, in 42nd place in 26:06.

For the PSAC Championship, Slippery Rock will travel to Edinboro, with the race starting at 11 a.m.
