I applied for the assistant photo editor position at 11:30 p.m., the night before the application closed. I had no clue that I was about to change my entire college experience or the impact The Rocket would make in my life.

I have made some of my best friends through being a part of The Rocket. I am so grateful for this experience.

I am not a writer and it’s hard for me to put into words how much you all mean to me, but here is my attempt.

Sarah,

Thank you so much for making me feel so included in the staff last year. I miss you and listening to the “Girlies on Air” podcast while I do my nails. I love seeing how happy you look living in Vermont.

Soph,

I am so glad that we had the opportunity to get closer this year. You are an amazing person. I miss you so much. The Rocket was not the same without you. Thank you for always reminding me to take care of myself. State College is not too far. We will have to get together this summer.

Gillian,

I don’t know why it took until this school year for us to meet, but I am so glad that we did. You are a once in a lifetime kind of friend. One who truly cares and will always be there. I am going to miss going out on for karaoke night on Tuesdays or any night of the week, but I know this isn’t a goodbye.

Annabelle,

I am so grateful to have met you. I appreciate the way we get each other’s sense of humor. Whether I need support or a laugh you are always there. The two years I was on staff with you were not enough time. I will miss you so much. I know you are going to do such amazing things. It has been such a privilege to work with you and call you a friend.

Kayla,

I LOVE YOU. I could fill up the entire page with how much I am going to miss you. I am going to miss not having someone to go shopping and obsess over lip gloss with. You are an incredible and fun person.

Dwerdy,

Peace out gang. I will miss you. You’re cool, I guess. Having someone to talk about photos with has been fun. Thanks for always being there.

Aidan,

It is a privilege to know you. You are an amazing person, and you have been such a supportive person this year.

Chloe, Paige and Noelle,

It has been so much fun working with you. I know you guys are going to do great things. You all bring so much fun and life to the staff.

Maddie, Hayden, Audrey and Andrei,

You guys are some of the most hardworking people on the staff. It’s been a privilege to get to work with you. I know you guys are going to do great things and I cannot wait to see what’s in store.

To the best part of college and the people who made it so, goodbye.
