January 23rd- University Police received a call from an individual who reported that there was an intoxicated driver driving around campus. Officers checked the campus but were unable to locate the vehicle. The dispatcher called the caller back, who stated that the vehicle had left the area and that they had called the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) to pass on the information. No further action was taken by University Police.
January 23rd- University Police received a call from a Community Assistant (CA) in Building F who stated they had found evidence of an alcohol violation. Officers arrived on the scene, alcohol was found and citations were issued.
January 25th- University Police received a call that an unknown individual had jumped out of a second-floor window in Building D. Police arrived on the scene and were unable to locate the individual in question, as they did not swipe into the building.
January 26th- University Police are investigating a report of fraud in which an individual living in Building F gave their banking information on a social media platform. The person was able to file a claim with their financial institution before any more funds were lost. The incident is currently under investigation.
January 26th- University Police received a call from Butler 911 stating that they had dispatched an ambulance for an individual who may have broken their shoulder near Maltby Avenue while snowboarding. Police and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived on the scene, and the individual was transported to Grove City Medical Center.
January 28th- An individual visited the police station to report that earlier in the day, they were involved in a vehicle accident in the Swope Commuter Parking Lot and that the other driver had not made contact with them. The officer made contact and both drivers exchanged the necessary information.
January 28th- University Police responded to a vehicle on Kiester Road that had slid into a snowbank and was now unable to move. Officers arrived on the scene and with assistance from residents in the area, the vehicle was freed from the snow. No further action was taken by police.
January 28th- University Police responded to a vehicle on Kiester Road that had slid off the roadway and into a snowbank. Officers arrived on the scene and were unable to move the vehicle from where it was stuck. Pry’s Towing was called. Once they arrived, they removed the vehicle from the snow. The officer observed that the front tires were bald and instructed the driver to park the vehicle and not operate it. The driver was issued a traffic citation.
January 29th- University Police received a call from a CA in Watson Hall who reported an individual who was asked to leave the residence and stated that they wanted to harm themselves. The responding officers arrived, spoke with the individual, who stated that they were only joking around. The incident was referred to Student Conduct.
