September 12- Police are continuing to investigate damage that occurred to a security camera in Building D.
September 18- Slippery Rock Borough Police requested backup from University Police regarding an individual at Sheetz who was making unwanted comments at employees. University Police arrived on the scene and stood by while the borough officer spoke with the individual, who left the establishment without incident. No further action was taken.
September 19- University Police received a call from an individual stuck in the elevator in the Smith Student Center. Facilities were contacted and responded to the scene. The elevator was opened and the individual stuck inside was freed.
September 21- University Police responded to a car alarm going off in the Morrow Field House staff parking lot. On arrival, it was determined the individual responsible was intoxicated and had damaged the automobile. Charges were filed.
September 22- University Police received a call from Butler 911 reporting that an ambulance had been dispatched for an individual who cut their hand at the Campus Success Center. The Health Center advised that an officer should not be present and that the individual would be transported to the Grove City Medical Center.
September 22- University Police were called to assist an individual stumbling in the Quad, appeared sickly, and may have needed medical attention. Upon the officer’s arrival, the individual reported feeling nauseous and was unable to walk. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived shortly thereafter, and the individual was transported to Grove City Medical Center.
September 22- An individual reported a theft at the University Police Station. They stated their backpack, which contained an iPad, was stolen from the Spotts World Culture Center. The iPad was detected in an area near the Grove Apartment complex. The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) were notified to meet the University Police at the Grove Apartments. Upon the arrival at the location where the iPad was pinging, both PSP and University Police found the device and backpack inside a vehicle. The owner of the automobile was contacted and confirmed that they were trying to locate the owner of the backpack. The backpack was successfully returned, and no further action was taken.
September 24- Police Responded to an individual experiencing a panic attack who had passed out in Rhoads Hall. Police and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived on the scene, but the individual refused any further medical treatment.
September 24- The Police received a call from a woman in Building B who reported that during a FaceTime Call with her boyfriend, he had suddenly stopped responding. She requested a welfare check to ensure he was okay. Officers arrived at the location and discovered he had simply fallen asleep. The caller was informed everything was fine.
September 24- University Police responded to a report of a vehicle that had driven over a large decorative stone in the landscape near the Smith Commuter parking lot. The driver stated they were uninjured, but the vehicle had become stuck. Pry’s Towing arrived with two tow trucks and were able to remove the vehicle from its stuck place on the stone.
