SRSGA election applications now open

Slippery Rock Student Government Association will be holding its annual elections for Executive Board and Senator positions this April.   

Applications are currently open and can be found on CORE under the “Forms” tab where prospective applicants can choose which position they intend to run for. All Executive Board and Senator positions are open for people to run for. Applications must be turned in to CORE by March 14 at 11:59 p.m. 

The positions for the Executive Board include President, VP of Student & Academic Affairs, VP of Finance, VP of Internal Affairs, VP of Campus Outreach, and VP of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging.  

As for Senator positions, there are 13 positions open for every aspect of the University, ranging from Residence Hall Senator to At-Large Senator.  

Executive Board applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 and currently be in their second full semester at SRU. Prospective applicants also cannot participate in study abroad programs that last longer than twenty-eight days and must disclose to the student body any potential or current executive positions in any other campus organizations. Applicants must also have attended two Senate meetings and one Financial Affairs committee.  

For Senator positions, applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 and have attended one Senate meeting prior to the announcement of election results. 

Voting begins on April 7 at 8 a.m. and ends on April 9 at 5 p.m.

Andrei Pagnotta is a junior, majoring in Political Science with a concentration in Law and Politics, as well as an Acting Minor. Andrei joined The Rocket in the fall of 2024 as an Assistant News Editor and is now the News Editor. Andrei specializes in writing about local politics and various happenings around Slippery Rock. Aside from The Rocket, Andrei is the Treasurer and an active member of the Debate Society. After graduating, Andrei plans to attend law school to become an attorney representing labor unions.
