SRU will run a two-hour delay schedule on Thursday citing weather forecasts in Slippery Rock.
SRU Communications notified students, faculty and staff via email at 7:07 p.m. stating all classes will reflect a compressed schedule.
“University Police, dining halls and Student Health Center will open as regularly scheduled,” the email stated. The communication also noted University offices will open at 10 a.m. and essential employees should report as scheduled.
The announcement follows weather predictions of freezing rain beginning around 11 p.m. and lasting until at least 5 a.m. Thursday. Temperatures will hover in the high twenties and thirties. There is a 100% chance, according to The Weather Channel, of freezing rain from 1 a.m. to 2 a.m. with high 80% chances in the surrounding hours. Scattered showers with slightly warmer temperatures are predicted to persist throughout Thursday morning and early afternoon.
This is the first two-hour delay of the spring semester.
