January 21 – University Police received a call from the custodial staff reporting a water leak in the Grasstex area of Morrow Field House. Maintenance was notified and upon the officers’ arrival, they found maintenance already at the scene and had confirmed that the water had been shut off.

January 22 – University Police received an alarm activation for the elevator power supervisory monitor in Miller Auditorium. It was determined that power failure at the facility caused the activation. Maintenance was notified to check the elevators.

January 23 – Slippery Rock Police arrived at the station to use the Datamaster for a possible DUI motor vehicle operator.

January 23 – University Police responded to a supervisory alarm at Suite D. Upon arrival, both the Police and maintenance personnel discovered that a sprinkler head had disconnected from a water pipe. They shut off the main water valve located on the second floor, allowing residents to safely return to the building.

January 23 – While responding to a fire alarm activation, University Police observed two damaged vehicles that had been involved in an accident on Keister Road. The officer spoke to everyone involved, and all stated that they were not injured. One of the vehicles required towing, and Pry’s Towing was dispatched to the scene. The incident is currently under investigation.

January 24 – University Police responded to a fire alarm activation at Rhoads Hall. Upon the officers’ arrival, the building had been evacuated. The officer was unable to determine the cause, and safety was notified. The alarm panel was reset.

January 24 – University Police received a call from a CA that an individual guest in the lobby area of Suite B was highly intoxicated. Upon arrival, the police located the person and called for EMS. EMS arrived on the scene and transported the individual to Grove City Hospital. The incident has been referred to Student Standards.

January 24 – University Police received a call from a CA regarding two individuals attempting to enter the buildings. Police checked the area, but the individuals were gone on arrival.

January 25 – While on patrol, University Police noticed an individual urinating outside in public on Keister Road. Police attempted to stop the individual, but they fled and were eventually found among others. The individual was issued two citations along with another individual.

January 26 – University Police were called for a welfare check because an individual at Suite F was making statements of harming themselves. On arrival, Police noticed the individual was intoxicated, and EMS transported them to the hospital.

January 26 – University Police were called for an individual at Rhoads Hall who needed an ambulance for they were not holding down fluids. The individual was transported to the hospital.

January 26 – University Police were called by someone having an allergic reaction at Suite D. On arrival, the individual stated they did not need EMS since the swelling had gone down due to them taking a Benadryl.

January 27 – University Police were requested by Slippery Rock Police to assist with a disturbance between a landlord and tenant at a property on Sanderson Drive. Police arrived and obtained the individual’s information. PSP arrived on the scene and took over the investigation.

January 28 – An individual reported harassment received via Instagram at the University Police Station. The case has been referred to Student Standards.

January 28 – University Police received a complaint from an individual who stated that her boyfriend hit her in the face. The case is currently under investigation.

January 29 – University Police were called to assist an individual who had fallen and was unable to get up at the Swope Commuter Lot. When officers arrived, the individual was standing with two others. The individual explained that he had experienced back spasms but had not actually fallen to the ground. His only request was for assistance in getting to their vehicle.

January 29 – An individual arrived at the police station to file a sexual assault report that occurred on January 25, 2025. The case is currently under investigation.

January 29 – University Police conducted a traffic stop on Cameron Drive and determined that the driver of the vehicle was under the influence. Charges were filed.

January 29 – University Police received a call from a concerned parent who reported that their child at North Hall might have overdosed and requested a welfare check. When officers arrived at the child’s room, the found it empty. Police called the parents back, who informed dispatch that the child might be on Normal Avenue. Police located the child and transported them to Butler Memorial Hospital via Slippery Rock Ambulance.

January 29 – University Police responded to a motor vehicle accident involving two cars on West Lake Lane. Upon arrival, the officer found both drivers exchanging necessary information. No injuries were reported, and both vehicles were drivable. The incident is currently under investigation.

January 30 – An individual reported that while traveling on his bike, a car did not stop at a stop sign on Rock Pride Drive. This is when the cyclist lost control of his bike and hit the curb and fell off their bike. EMS was requested and responded. The individual was checked out and refused transport.
