Colleges Against Cancer, the on-campus club that puts on the annual Relay For Life, begins its kickoff week Monday, to raise awareness about Relay and “paint the campus purple,” which is the color representing American Cancer Society (ACA).

During the week, the club will be in the Aeborsold Recreation Center (ARC), student center and quad selling bracelets, luminaria bags and promoting registration for Relay.

Monday, CAC will be in the quad 1-3pm with games. On Tuesday, CAC will take part in Health Fest from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., where they will be educating students on breast cancer. Tuesday and Thursday, CAC will also have a booth outside of Starbucks with free ribbons and laptops to register for Relay for Life. Wednesday, the club will be back at the ARC to give out ribbons and fundraise by selling luminaria bags and bracelets.

To end the week, CAC will bring puppies to the quad from 1-3pm, because as we all know, “Cancer is Ruff.”

Colleges Against Cancer donates all their proceeds towards their goal of $$$ for ACA.

Relay for Life will be held in the ARC this year on March 23 from 4pm to midnight, with the theme being monopoly. Clubs or any group of people can register and have a spot on the life-size monopoly board and sell food or goods to raise money for ACA. If you would like for your club to join, you can contact Rebecca Godwin at rlg1016@sru.edu or Dallas Kline at drk1006@sru.edu.

CAC will be fundraising until the end of next semester for ACA.
