This Friday and Saturday, the Musical Theater Society (MTS) will present their production of “Counting On Broadway.”

It will be a cabaret, including numbers such as “One Short Day” from “Wicked,” “A Million Dreams” from “The Greatest Showman” and “Ten Duel Commandments” from “Hamilton,” along with many more. Cast members define some numbers as more “niche” as well.

The team has been rehearsing multiple times a week and expressed excitement for the performance.

Vickie Herrick, MTS president and stage manager, said she is most excited for the audience to see “[that] we have some real sleeper numbers from musicals that may be unfamiliar for some that will really ‘wow.’ And our dance ensemble? Always killing it!”

This will be Herrick’s final performance, as she is graduating this spring. She was stage manager for three years and president for her final year.

“My favorite part of the job this semester is sitting back and prepping to ‘retire’ from stage managing. I also love seeing all the wonderful people I’ve trained take over what I built up,” Herrick said.

Piper Roth, assistant director, said she is extremely excited for the audience to see “all of the numbers, but I think ‘Barbra 2.0,’ ‘Two Lost Souls’ and ‘One’ are really going to catch their attention.”

Roth has been involved in MTS for three years, two of them being shadow/assistant director. She also hopes to take over Herrick’s role as president in the fall semester.

The assistant director discussed her favorite part of this process.

“My favorite part is how everything has been coming together so well these past couple weeks, it’s only getting better,” Roth said.

The upcoming shows are $8 for students and $12 for adults if an individual would like to purchase a ticket.
