Emily Schubert, Asst. Photo Editor

Emily Schubert –– Asst. Photo Editor

“You can look at a picture for a week and never think of it again. You can also look at a picture for a second and think of it all your life.”― Joan Miró

Capturing a subject at the right time can create an impactingl and unforgettable piece. Photography is not about getting the most perfect technical image, but more about catching the essence of the subject and making the audience feel something; that is what I strive for when taking pictures. There is nothing better than the feeing of someone appreciating your photograph as a piece of art. This is what sparked my interest in a career in photography. The idea that my personal look on a subject can make a person happy was addicting. After taking courses dealing with photography, I knew I found my calling. I earned the position of Assistant Photo Editor for the Rocket and now can practice my field while gaining experience in a professional setting. Being an emerging technology major and graphic design minor, I hope to break into the industry and make my mark in the world of photography.
