I am an unconventional lady. There is no doubt about that. I am artsy, unique, classy, I embrace my differences, and l think with the left side of my brain. Throughout high school, I wanted to be a journalist; however, upon entering college, I made one of the biggest mistakes of my life. Last minute, I decided to change my career path and came to Slippery Rock with the aspiration of becoming a Forensic Pathologist and I did not do well at all. It was not that I did not try; I just was not passionate about the career choice. I learned the hard way that you should never stray away from what you have passion for. Luckily I was able to dig myself out of that hole by changing my major from forensic chemistry to journalism. I have to admit, life as a journalism major is simply amazing. I got involved with The Rocket my second semester at Slippery Rock as a contributing writer. I have learned so much as a journalist and it has always been a great opportunity to be able to apply my skills from my journalism classes, while gaining experience. Now that I am The Rocket's News Editor, it is like a dream come true. I never imagined I would be given an opportunity like this. After I graduate from Slippery Rock, I have big dreams of moving to Chicago and combining my passion for journalism and interest of forensic science by becoming an investigative journalist. In my spare time, I love to paint, draw, take pictures with my Nikon, knit, listen to various genres of music, watch horror movies, and watch my favorite television series, Dexter. I am inspired by Bettie Page and Audrey Hepburn. Also, people say I look like Katy Perry, so that is pretty cool.
