Parking permit costs, fines cause headache

Parking has always been an issue on campus, and this year is no exception as students and staff continue to fight for an available parking spot and pay for permits to do so. The enforcement for assigned locations around campus is effective between 7:30 a.

New Happy Bus beneficial

The addition of a second shuttle bus and the creation of new routes have made students' Happy Bus experience more convenient. The second shuttle bus and new routes were added in August. Carol Waters, vice president of student affairs of the Student Government Association, said that the decision was made to add another shuttle bus because there were too many people who wanted to ride the bus, and there was not enough room to accommodate them all.

New Pa. Chancellor gets positive feedback from faculty

The newly elected Chancellor of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, John C. Cavanaugh, opened the lines of communication between SRU faculty and the Pennsylvania state government at an open forum on Aug. 28 in the Swope Music Hall Auditorium.

Co-Op Board discusses upcoming expenses for year

SRU's Board of Cooperative Activities held its first meeting Thursday to discuss how budgets would be spent for the 2008-2009 school year. The board passed the motion to carry over the budgets from the 2007-2008 school year to the 2008-2009 school year. The total amount of funds to be carried over is around $45,146; $24,507 for scholarships from athletic income, $2,865 for the Green and Growing fund, $811 for University theater, $14,640 for The Rocket and $2,323 for the Student Government Association.

Professor's love of history, students remembered

On Sept. 4 during common hour, friends and family of Dr. David Dixon gathered in the University Union to remember and celebrate his life. Dixon, 53, died July 16 due to a heart attack while bicycling in Virginia. A ceremony was held in the Multi-Purpose Room to recall his life.

Court Cases September 2 - Christopher Dale Critzman, 37, Portersville, was seen for DUI. September 2 - Bruce Edward Hummel, 45, Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, was seen for theft, criminal conspiracy, receiving stolen property, railroad vandalism and criminal trespass.
