Monday's lacrosse contest against visiting Indiana University of Pennsylvania (3-12 overall, 2-10 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) held the possibility of an upset for Slippery Rock. However, the result was the same as the Rock's (0-14, 0-12 PSAC) last thirteen contests of the season as the Rock fell to 0-14 with a 15-3 loss. The Crimson Hawks dominated the total shots on goal, 42-18.

In what has become common over the course of the season, the Rock began with a strong defensive start, holding IUP scoreless for roughly the first seven minutes of the match until IUP's Sarah Demaio opened the scoring to give the Crimson Hawks a 1-0 lead that they never relinquished. The Crimson Hawks ran the score to 7-0 before the Rock's offensive leaders staged a rally. Senior Jayme Timmons, the second leading scorer on the team, scored a goal with 4:39 remaining in the first period and Junior Caitlin O'Brien, the team's leading scorer, added another in quick succession a mere minute and a half later.

The rally continued into the second period as O'Brien opened the second period's scoring with a goal three minutes in to bring the score to 7-3. The goals brought O'Brien's tally to 23 for the year and Timmons' to 14. It was as close as the Rock would come, as IUP closed out the final period with eight straight goals.

Sophomore Rock goalies Ashley Winkelspecht and Sara Williams combined to make sixteen saves, with Winkelspecht tending goal the first 36 minutes of the game before yielding to Williams in relief for the final 23. Winkelspecht totaled nine saves while Williams had seven. Entering the contest, Winkelspecht ranked 3rd in the PSAC in total saves per game.

The Rock has two games remaining, both coming at home against two top-ten teams in the Division II International Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association poll: No. 6 Lock Haven on Saturday and No. 7 Mercyhurst next Monday.
