The Student Government Association approved at its Thursday meeting the allocation of nearly $1 million for 68 of the 96 SRU organizations that applied for funding for the 2008-09 year.
The Cooperative Activities Office was allocated the most of any group, at $267,400. The University Program Board was allocated the second-highest total, $220,351.
Organizations were permitted to apply for a 4 percent increase based on the 2007-08 budgets. SGA President Larry Brink said that each organization that requested the 4 percent bump received it.
For example, The Rocket's 2007-08 budget was $4,414. The 4 percent increase for the 2008-09 academic year means The Rocket's budget will be $4,590.
The budgets of the remaining 28 organizations are being discussed by the Board of Cooperative Activities and will be voted upon at a later date.
