Vice President of Student Life Constance Foley (left) talks during the SGA senate meeting Thursday about her support for the Title IX suit occuring between the university and some women's sports teams. Vice President of Financial Affairs Michael Combs (middle) was confronted by co-captain Jen Venet and other members of the woman's field hockey team about why he was wearing a shirt that read "End Title IX."

Members of the women's field hockey team questioned Student Government Association Vice President of Financial Affairs Michael Combs about his shirt stating "End Title IX" during Thursday's SGA senate meeting.

The women's field hockey team approached Combs after the meeting to inform him about his representation of the entire SGA by wearing this shirt.

Combs said that he was not wearing the shirt to upset anyone, but to raise awareness about how Title IX was affecting not only women's sports but men's sports as well.

"President Smith isn't going to cut anymore teams to save face," Combs said.

During the open forum of the meeting, members of the women's field hockey team stood up while co-captain Jen Venet read a letter protesting Combs wearing the shirt.
