Score one for logic. The members of the Student Government Association Senate voted by a 21-13 margin Thursday, falling just two votes short of approving an amendment to the SGA Constitution that would have changed the way faculty members are appointed to the Cooperative Activities Board.
It has become increasingly apparent to me that our university is turning into the Bush administration. It is unfortunate when the big issues of the day on campus are smoking and cell phone use in the library. Not only are they minor blips in the large scheme of university issues, they're simply serving to distract us from the bigger issues.
When I look for ideas to fill this space each week, I go online and search through various news sources. Usually, I find a story that piques my interest and I voice my opinion accordingly. Today, however, I have found a variety of stories that I would like to share with you.
