WSRU-TV, Slippery Rock University's campus television station, has five shows this semester that make up the network's schedule, all of which are entirely student-produced.
Brett Barnett, a professor in the communication department, has been the adviser of the TV station for each of the three years he's been at SRU.
"What I do is help instruct the students when it comes to the equipment or content of the shows," Barnett said. "I also organize meetings and basically go over the layout of each show."
The weekly shows, which range in length from 20 to 30 minutes, are taped on various days and take almost the entire week to create, including the preparation, filming and editing of the footage.
The five shows aired each week on WSRU-TV are "SRU Movie Vault," "XRU," "Off the Record," "SRUnderground" and "Around the Rock."
"SRU Movie Vault" is a show dedicated strictly to movies. Be it a new release or an old blockbuster hit, co-hosts Steve Hansell and Kelly Jurewicz cover everything a movie-lover needs to know.
"We keep people up to date on everything that's going on in the movie world," said Jurewicz, 22, a senior professional studies major. "We give the box office reviews of the past week and talk about movies that are either coming out or have already came out on DVD."
Hansell, the other host of "SRU Movie Vault," is a senior communication major and the station's secretary.
