The Homecoming football game against Clarion will be held at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The game will be one of the concluding events following the week-full of performances, guest speakers and special events for students to participate in.
Megan Fedor, the University Program Board's vice president of University Events and Activities, said that she's been preparing for next week's activities since she got the job at the end of the spring semester.
"I started training and we started preparing for it right away," Fedor, a 20-year-old junior exercise science major, said.
"We did a lot of planning over the summer."
The festivities will begin on Oct. 10 in the University Union lobby, where students can take part in the Stuff-a-Plush event from 12 to 4 p.m.
At the event, students can make their own stuffed animals, comparable to those made at Build-A-Bear Workshops.
Cassie Stambul, a sophomore marketing and sports management major, said she loved the event last year.
"My friend and I went last year and it was so cute," said Stambul, 19. "We'll probably go again this year."
Fedor said this event will be run on a first-come first-served basis, and is one of the best-attended activities during Homecoming week.
The events continue on Oct. 10 at 8 p.m., when Veronica and Rachel from MTV's hit reality TV series, "Road Rules," will be speaking in the University Union's Multi-Purpose Room at 8 p.m.
"They are going to dish all the dirt from the Road Rules/Real World challenges," Fedor said. "(And talk about) a lot of the stuff you didn't get to see on TV."
One student is excited to attend for a different reason.
"I'm excited to actually see Veronica and Rachel because they are pretty hot," said 19-year-old sophomore art major Matt Palla.
The Homecoming events continue Oct. 11 at 11 a.m. in the MPR with an event called the Big Toy Party.
During the event, students will get the opportunity to play with giant versions of games such as Jenga, checkers and Twister.
From 3 to 7 p.m., there will be an inflatable, six-room, alien haunted house students can go through.
This haunted house will be set up in Gym A in the Aebersold Recreation Center.
Later that night, as part of the SGA movie series, "Old School" will be playing on the front patio of the union at 8 p.m.
The rain location for the movie will be the MPR.
The Homecoming pep rally is at 6 p.m. on Oct. 12 on West Central Loop, located between the Spotts World Culture building and Morrow Field House. This is where the Homecoming king and queen with be announced.
There will then be fireworks at 7 p.m.
Vice President of Student Life Carol Waters said that to become a candidate for king or queen, a student must be nominated from an organization to which they belong.
"Students also have the option of having at least 50 people sign a petition to become nominated," said Waters, a 19-year-old sophomore public relations major.
Other requirements that potential candidates must meet include being at least a sophomore and having a minimum grade point average of 2.75.
There is a Homecoming committee that will choose the court, and from those candidates, the student body will choose the winners.
Students can vote in the University Union on Oct. 10 and 11 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., or at Weisenfluh Dining Hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4p.m. to 7 p.m.
After the pep rally, the performance group Recycled Percussion will be putting on a show in Morrow Field House on Oct. 12 at 7 p.m.
The Homecoming Parade will take place at 10 a.m. on Oct. 13 and will travel down Main Street.
Following the parade, there will be a Homecoming Cookout and Social located on the union's back patio at 4 p.m.
At each event, students will be able to pick up free SRU merchandise, such as foam noodles, foam paws, Frisbees and footballs.
To encourage attendance at all the events and going along with the Homecoming theme, "Rockopoly," students that go to any Homecoming activity will get a game piece to be stamped at each seperate event.
Once a student recieves three stamps, they will be entered to win a $50 Pepsi gift basket.
