With just four little words last Friday, Colorado State University junior J. David McSwane opened the floodgates to a free speech debate. In the CSU campus newspaper, The Rocky Mountain Collegian, McSwane published a staff editorial with a straight-to-the-point message, printed in large display type: "Taser this…F*** BUSH.

Tasering an exercise in excess

There is nothing I love more than excess. Excess french fries at McDonald's. Excess laughter from someone that leaves us all thinking "wow, what an idiot." And especially excessive use of force. Most of us have seen the video of the college student being Tasered by police at a John Kerry speech.
