Junior Jen Blasko added eight kills and 15 digs on Saturday and admits that the transition period is taking longer than anticipated.
"We need to start showing up as a team," Blasko said. "Sometimes we are passive, sometimes we are intense. We never know who is going to show up."
In the Rock's 3-0 loss at Lock Haven on Tuesday, the frustration, inconsistency problems persisted.
"Lock Haven is not as strong as last year, and we definitely should have played better," Lokash said.
Urbanik said the team still struggles in finding people to click consistently and everyone feels the frustration.
"We are still not flowing, and we are unable to run the stuff we need to run," Urbanik said. "We expect more of ourselves."
Senior Louise Schultz agreed that there are many continuing problems, which aren't just limited to setting.
"We have a lot of issues at this point, especially with clicking as a team," Schultz said. "It was just the setting before, (but) now it's all-around problems."
As a leader, Schultz is willing to do whatever it takes to improve her team, even if that means moving from middle hitter to setter on occasions.
And that is exactly what Lokash had her do against Lock Haven in the third and final match.
"We didn't practice it, and we would rather have her in the middle, but we can't get her the ball," Lokash said.
A lot of the frustration stems from the fact that last year the team went 31-9 overall and made it to the PSAC Semifinals.
"If we accept setbacks and mediocrity, we will lose," Lokash said. "I feel that it will work itself out and we will find the answers. They just need to learn how to work with what they are given."
Lokash said that when hitters do not get something in their comfort zone, they have to adjust and stop doubting themselves.
"They were used to a comfort zone from last year's senior setter," Lokash said. "But it is getting to the point, this season, where the hitters are accepting an easy way out."
Lokash explained that the set does not affect everything. She said her team must play with more enthusiasm and with less doubt and hesitancy.
The Rock looks to end its three-game losing streak when it takes on the California (Pa.) on Tuesday at Morrow Field House.
