"As long as they learn awareness, that's good. I don't really think the Women's Center will really affect people, but maybe in a couple of years, when people respect the cause, they will associate the event with the Women's Center."

Sherwood said that the "In the Pink: Stride For The Cure" walk details will be available at Villagefest, in conjunction with Healthfest on Oct. 1, where people can register to participate.

The cost is $5 per person. All proceeds will be donated to help support breast cancer awareness.

With the walk, the Women's Center is also having other events, such as a screening of a cancer survivor's story, "Rachel's Daughter," on Oct. 1, Love Your Body Day on Oct. 18, and Dating Violence Awareness Week on Oct. 22 to 25.

The center will be also be distributing a 10-question survey to the students on how the center can improve, and can be brought to the people's attention.

Solito said that the survey could help change misconceptions and assumptions about the center. "It's a big reason to raise awareness to the students and faculty that there is a Women's Center," she said.
