As a freshman in 2006, he led the team in scoring with five goals and two assists. Through three games this year, Jeremy has been held scoreless.

When did you start playing soccer and why?

Jeremy Deighton: I started kicking a ball basically when I could walk. Both my older brothers played soccer and I kinda just got into it. I played in a smurf league when I was around four, and I guess I got pretty good at it.

How are you when it comes to superstitions?

JD: HaHa! Well I listen to some music before a game. I love to listen to "Under Pressure" by Queen. Other than that, I am not too superstitious.

Do you have any special talents or skills we don't know about?

JD: I don't think I have any. I can't sing or play an instrument. You can pretty much say that I am not musically inclined. I don't think anyone wants to hear me sing. That I know for sure.

Has anyone ever told you that you look like anyone famous? Any movie stars or sports heroes?

JD: Well, a lot of my friends from home say that I do. They tell me I look like Bastian Schweinsteiger. He plays for Bayern Munich in Germany. He also plays on the German National team. So I guess you could say that I am somewhat of a celeb. Well, at least I LOOK like one!
