By Brandon Fox, Rocket Editor-In-Chief

The Rock women's soccer team enters the 2007 season looking to continue a successful five-year run, including two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference titles ('03 and '05) and five consecutive conference semifinal appearances. Head Coach Noreen Herlihy's squad, which went 12-7-1 overall and 8-2-0 in the PSAC in 2006, returns seven starters from a team which earned its third NCAA regional tournament berth since 2001, before a semifinal loss to national final-four participant and PSAC-East foe West Chester.

By Brian Hagberg, Rocket Contributor

Young talent can beat skilled experience. At least that's what the SRU Women's Volleyball team is hoping for this season from a squad that includes ten freshmen. Coming off a 31-9 campaign last year, the most wins by an SRU team since 1993, head coach Laurie Lokash starts her 23rd season with a team that returns only two seniors, Andrea Campbell (RS) and Co-captain Louise Schultz.

FACT or FICTION: Michael Vick should never play in the NFL again.

Brandon Fox, Sports Editor Michael Vick should never step foot on an NFL field again. What he did was sick, and he has given the NFL yet another black eye. He killed and gambled on dogs, regardless of what his plea with authorities says. I think that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is doing the right thing by suspending him indefinitely.

Getting to know Jeremy Deighton, Soccer, Fwd

As a freshman in 2006, he led the team in scoring with five goals and two assists. Through three games this year, Jeremy has been held scoreless. When did you start playing soccer and why? Jeremy Deighton: I started kicking a ball basically when I could walk.
