The start of the academic year, for better or worse, is always a time characterized by the numerous changes that occur both in the lives of students and in the community. It's a time when students are forced to trade in their carefree summer nights for 8 a.
With college back in full swing, everyone is getting back into their usual routines. I'm happy to be back writing for the Rocket this semester. I'm even happier that I found a place to live on such short notice. At the end of last year, I had thought I secured an apartment, only to find out it had fallen through.
Welcome back-and yes, I know it is the beginning of a new semester, and that I could be talking about the new ID cards or Michael Vick, but I feel there are much more pressing issues that need to be addressed in my first opinion column. In late July, I was hit in the head with one of the most painful pop-culture blows since Kurt Vonnegut's death.
