Tennis defeats Bentley, set to play Bloomsburg

The No. 34-ranked Rock women's tennis team shut out Bentley College, 5-0, Thursday at the regional stage of the NCAA Division II Tournament. The win in the first round marks the third time that the team has moved on to the second round. To prepare for the match against Bentley, head coach Matt Meredith worked the team hard.

Football will rely on an experienced defense in '07

Outdoor track breaks more records, gears up for conference championships

For the second time in as many weeks, the SRU track team saw school records fall at meets. The Rock competed last weekend at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia and at the Sparky Adams Invitational in Berea, Ohio. Coach John Papa was happy with the teams' performances last weekend.

Softball fails to make conference playoffs, still hoping for regional berth

It's not often that a collegiate team can earn a regional playoff berth, while at the same time, fail to reach its own division's playoff. But that is exactly what the SRU women's softball team currently faces. The Rock holds a 26-22 overall record, the highest win total for a women's softball team all-time at SRU.

Equestrian team qualifies for regionals, continues sucessful run at club level

Slippery Rock University equestrian team qualified for Regionals on April 1, 2007, at Green Tree Stables in Edinboro. The club team had three riders qualify. Freshman Amy Watt had her first appearance, scoring fifth overall in the division. April Schroder, junior, also had her first appearance.

Rock track star obtains conference's top winter honor Senior track athlete Andi Rose was named this week as a recipient of a prestigious Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Winter Top Ten Award. The Top Ten Awards, selected by the PSAC's sports information directors, recognize student-athletes who distinguish themselves in the classroom and in the arena of competition.
