Combs, Garrison Phillis and Rose Iksic were the three candidates who ran for the position.
Parliamentarian Ashley Clark gave the three candidates two minutes to describe to voting members why they felt they should hold the position of vice president of financial affairs.
"I believe that SGA should consider the best interest of the students," Combs said.
"I know that some of you are my friends and some are not but that should not have anything to do with the vote.
"Students spoke their voice, they already voted, and they voted for me. Right now you can give the students what they wanted or you can deny their voice."
Phillis said he would focus on SGA's budgeting if elected to the position.
"My main goals would be to improve budgeting," Phillis said. "Communication within SGA as a group and extend office hours in order to increase availability for students."
Phillis also stated the utilization of resources on campus is of the utmost importance.
"I am very involved in extracurricular activities and I could positively influence student life," Iksic said.
The senate was then given the opportunity to ask questions.
"I want to throw this question out to all three candidates: being a member of the executive board is a big responsibility, are you willing to make it your number one priority?" said Vice President of Student Life Richard Graham.
Phillis was the first candidate to respond.
"It all comes down to commitment and being the students' voice, which is one of the most important things we will do during our college careers," Phillis said.
