Freshman centerfielder Courtney Vincent may only be in her first year at the Rock, but she is already turning heads by breaking a record. She just recently broke the stolen bases record for the Rock. The old record was set in 2004 by Shannon Tagliaferri with a record of 16 swipes on 21 attempts.
School records continue to fall as the outdoor track team broke another record on its way to a combined six first-place finishes between two meets. The Rock competed at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania meet and the West Virginia Invitational this past weekend.
The Rock women's tennis team finished in third place at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships last weekend after defeating Millersville in a 5-0 match-up. The victory was the 22nd on the year moving the 2006-07 team to the top of the school's single-season wins record list.
The SRU women's water polo team placed fourth in the Collegiate Water Polo Association Western Division Tournament held at the University of Michigan this weekend, finishing its season with a 7-15 record. During the first round on Saturday, SRU defeated Mercyhurst by the score of 9-7.
