Women's water polo prepares for Western Division Championships

The SRU women's water polo team won its third straight game when it blanked Penn State Behrend 14-0 on the road Wednesday night.
With the win, the Rock's record now stands at 6-13 and the team has assured itself a third-place finish in the Collegiate Water Polo Association Division.
The Rock will now face the No. six seed at the Western Divisions in Ann Arbor, Mich., on Saturday at 1:45 p.m. in opening round action.
Rock sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Surbaugh recorded seven saves and two steals en route to the shutout, a feat rarely accomplished in water polo competition.
Senior offensive set Erika Brunner led all goal scorers with five, while junior driver Beth Choike added three.
Junior offensive set Ashley Goodwill and freshman driver Raquel Woerner each tallied two goals, as sophomore driver Heather Walbright and senior driver Megan Jo Ramage each recorded a goal in the victory
Choike led the team in assists with three, while Brunner and Walbright had two each with Ramage, Woerner and sophomore driver Besty Wilson adding one apiece.
Choike also had two steals and two caused kickouts, while Brunner had two steals and one caused kickout.
On Sunday, the Rock took on Washington & Jefferson in its final home appearance this season and won by a score of 11-8.
"We don't have too many home games," Choike said. "We got a lot of support this season, which was great. The crowds we got were great, and it is a great feeling to have fans in the stands cheering for you.
"We were excited about the win. We have had a rough season, and it was a great game."
Brunner scored six goals and recorded three assists in her final home game this season.
These goals gave her a season total of 75 goals and 24 assists. She has a total of 247 career goals in her four years at the Rock.
Choike scored two goals to increase her season total to 32 and three assists, while Walbright scored two goals on Sunday and recorded one assist to improve her season totals to 17 goals and 22 assists.
