The Rock men's and women's track team had two meets last weekend with the team recording seven first-place finishes and setting two school records.

The first of the two meets was the Bucknell Invitational, in which only six SRU runners participated.

"We had a great meet," Coach John Papa said. "We had six distance runners go to Bucknell, and they broke two school records, and we had six qualify for nationals."

For the women at the Bucknell Invite, junior Raissa Weiss placed fifth in the steeplechase with a time of 11:26.10. With that time, she qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships and set an SRU record. Also, junior Holly Whoolery placed sixth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:11.00. She also qualified for NCAA Division II Nationals with that time.

The last of the women who qualified for nationals was freshman Jen Harpp with her 13th-place finish in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:32.93.

On the men's side, sophomore Jeff Weiss placed fifth in the 5,000-meter run with the time of 14:09.97. With this time, he qualified for Division II National Championships and set the other SRU record.

Also for the men, sophomore Patrick Reagan finished 12th in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:33.32, which qualified him for nationals.

The last of the men at Bucknell was junior Chris Geddis, who placed 24th in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:47.83. He rounds out the six who qualified for NCAA Division II National Championships.

The rest of the SRU track team competed at home at the SRU Invitational.

For the women at the meet, senior Andi Rose won two events. She placed first in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.63. Her other first-place finish was in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.29.

The other two first-place finishes for the Rock were sophomore Lacey Cochran in the 200-meter dash, with a time of 26.30, and freshman Susan Yuhas in the javelin with a distance of 41.94. The 4x100 relay time also placed first with a time of 47.95.
