"We are gearing up for the remainder of the season, and we are hoping to place third in championships in Michigan," Yeamans said.
When it comes to goals for the rest of the season, Yeamans goals are simple; they are to keep improving and playing their best until the end of the season.
After the home game on Tuesday, the water polo, field hockey and swimming teams received awards from Joanne Totsi-Vasey of PA Now (National Organization of Women) Inc., for their role in helping SRU attain gender equity in its athletic program. Those teams received the Women's Sport Foundation second "Geena Takes Aim" national resolution.
Besides the teams receiving plaques bearing the resolution, 12 individual players received plaques bearing the resolution.
The "Geena Takes Aim" resolution is named for a former Foundation trustee, women's rights advocate and award-winning actress Geena Davis. It honors individuals and/or groups who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment in the pursuit of gender equity, civil rights and social justice in sports.
"It is quite an honor," Yeamans said. "These girls have worked so hard, and it was nice to see them get awards for their hard work and determination."
The Rock will be back in action Sunday in its last home game of the season against Washington & Jefferson at noon at the Morrow Field House.
