In the second game, Cal struck first blood with two run-producing singles to go up 2-0.

The Rock got on the board in the top of the fourth when Rhoades and freshman Amber Phillips scored on a single to tie the game 2-2.

In the bottom of the fourth, Cal put another run on the board to go back up 3-2.

Then in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Vulcans put up four more runs to go up 7-2.

In the top of the seventh, Rhoades hit a three-run home run to make the score 7-5.

The Rock used three pitchers in the game.

Sophomore Liz Pittman pitched 3.2 innings and gave up seven hits, three runs and had no strikeouts. Sophomore Lisa Getgen pitched one inning and gave up two hits, four runs and two walks.

Horvath pitched 1.1 innings and gave up one hit and had one strikeout and one walk.

The games against Cal were suppose to start three straight days of doubleheaders, but due to the inclement and rainy weather, both Wednesday's and Thursday's games were cancelled.

Wednesday, the Rock was supposed to play division rival Clarion, and on Thursday it were suppose to play non-conference Salem International.

The Rock has four important games this weekend, starting today when the team plays Lock Haven at Lock Haven, and then goes on to a doubleheader Saturday against Edinboro at home.

Johnson has one goal for the four games against PSAC West opponents this weekend:

"Win, win, win," Johnson said. "We should be able to sweep Edinboro, and we cannot be intimidated by Lock Haven."
