Freshman Eric Novick placed seventh in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.77, while freshman Philip Rector finished seventh in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.80.

"As a freshman, he is having a good effort," coach John Papa said.

Junior Preston Gibbs garnered an eighth-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 21 feet 7.5 inches. Sophomore Daniel Kilgore finished ninth on the triple jump with a distance of 43 feet 7 inches.

The Rock will be at home this weekend when it competes at the SRU Invitational.

Papa thinks that running at home will be good for the team, and that the team has goals that they want to accomplish during the meet.

"We are excited to run at home this weekend," Papa said. "We usually do well at home, and since we had last weekend off, the athletes are antsy to run."
