Indoor track stays consistent in meets

As for the men at the Charlotte Invitational, junior Adam Jones had the highest finish with a second-place finish in the hammer toss with a distance of 162 feet 7 inches.
Jones also placed sixth in the shot put with a distance of 47 feet 8.5 inches. He also competed in the discus throw and placed eighth with a distance of 126 feet 7 inches.
Also for the men, sophomore Brian Dell garnered a sixth-place finish in the hammer throw with a distance of 143 feet 7 inches. He was eighth in the shot put with a distance of 46 feet 8 inches.
Freshman Chris Warning finished sixth in the discus throw with a toss of 137 feet 5 inches.
Junior Nate Shadeck placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time 54.58. Senior Andrew Notareschi finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time 57.04.
Freshman Eric Novick placed seventh in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.77, while freshman Philip Rector finished seventh in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.80.
"As a freshman, he is having a good effort," coach John Papa said.
Junior Preston Gibbs garnered an eighth-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 21 feet 7.5 inches. Sophomore Daniel Kilgore finished ninth on the triple jump with a distance of 43 feet 7 inches.
The Rock will be at home this weekend when it competes at the SRU Invitational.
Papa thinks that running at home will be good for the team, and that the team has goals that they want to accomplish during the meet.
"We are excited to run at home this weekend," Papa said. "We usually do well at home, and since we had last weekend off, the athletes are antsy to run."
