Although the fall semester exam schedule has changed, the spring semester exam schedule will remain the same for a few more years.
"In the spring of 2009 the (Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education) will be introducing a new calendar, and the exam week will be four days during the week and one Saturday morning, making the schedule identical to the fall semester schedule," Baker said.
This change in the spring may not be as welcomed by students and faculty as it is for the fall.
Kate Steffey, a junior resort recreation management/tourism major, said she dislikes the proposed adjustment for the spring semester calendar.
"I do not understand what purpose it serves to have a fall break if we are only getting two days off," Steffey said.
But the new schedule has few Saturday morning exams.
"You could count on one or two fingers the amount of exams offered on the Saturday of finals week," Baker said, "and the only way students would have a Saturday morning final is if they have a Saturday morning class."
Overall, the results have shown that the majority of faculty and students enjoyed having fall break 2006,
"I feel that fall break was a positive change and the survey confirmed," Baker said.
